Do not try to lighten your hair, especially with sun-in!

Lighteners (yes, even lemon juice) will destroy the integrity of the hair folicles, this making it lighten endlessly until you end up with a brassy color (gross!). So, you will have no control over how light it goes or what hue it ends up.

If you want to lighten your hair, I suggest getting some subtle golden or strawberry-blonde highlights. Not chunky ones, though... just small skinny ones. Start small and build so you don't over do it, and whatever you do DO NOT DO IT AT HOME! It is worth the extra money to go to a salon and have it done right.

This is your hair, afterall. You have to live with it day in and out, so you want it to come out right. Go to a salon and get some light highlights... You'll feel like a million bucks! I promise :)
For the leon to naturally lighten your hair on any hair color, you need to go out in the sun after you put it in your hair because that is what causes it to react. Last summer I did this and it worked well, but you have to do it quite a few times and be out in the sun for at least an hour. I sugest squeezng it in your hair before you go to the pool or something like that. itdoesnt dry your hair out or anything, but the results are sometimes unpredictable.
Yes but it may turn your hair orange or pink depending on the shade of red your hair is. I have red hair and used sun in and had orange hair in the end my cousin had a pretty light blond color after doing it i guees it just depends on your hair.
You should try Sun In. Its this stuff that you put in your hair and then you go outside and the sun highlights your hair....google it.
it works but it doesnt always turn your hair the color you want it to become.
yes it will lighten your hair
yep...so will half peroxide an half water in a spray bottle... but it dries out ur hair.

I would like to lighten my blonde hair with lemon juice?

But I have a few questions;

Will it turn my hair orange?

Do I use just juice or mix it with water?

How much water, warm or cold?

How long do I keep it in, how many days should I do it for?

Anyother tips would be great!I would like to lighten my blonde hair with lemon juice?
Don't do it! It isn't like normal highlights. The lemon juice makes hair lighter because it is burning it. Your hair will end up coarse, dry, and rough. I suggest getting normal highlights.I would like to lighten my blonde hair with lemon juice?
buy sun in, works greaaaaaattttt!
You're hair will NOT turn orange. It will make you're hair a little lighter for a week or so only if you're blonde. I just squeezed lemons right onto my hair. Keep it in for as long as you stay outside (works when you're out in the sun) try it everyday for a week (if you have the time) and your hair will be lighter.

There's this spray called ';sun-in'; that you can try also.
If your hair is a light enough blonde, it shouldn't turn orange.

Use just straight lemon juice- water would just dilute it and most lemon ';juices'; are already diluted.

Spray bottles are really effective for this, so pour the juice into any old but thoroughly cleaned spray bottle. Just spray the lemon juice all through your hair and then for best results sit outside. The sunlight's much more effective for hair lightening than a blow dryer is. Plus, the sun will naturally lighten your hair, which will just help the lemon juice work even better!

I'd say keep it in until it's at least dry. Just act like you're out there, trying to get a tan. Do it for at least a week.

Also, the lemon juice and sitting out in the sun can have a drying effect on your hair so be sure to use a deep conditioner. Aussie's 3 minute miracle deep conditioner is good for this- it smells great, costs like 2.50 to 3.50 depending on where you buy it from, and works well.

If your hair turns orange at all, don't worry. either continue using the lemon juice because this is just part of the lightening process.. Or buy a toner. Manic panic's virgin snow toner works well without needing to buy a special developer. If you choose to use toner, just don't leave it on too long. 10 to 15 minutes should be all you need.

Whatever you do, don't use Sun-In! Worst stuff in the world.

good luck!

I want to lighten my hair with lemon juice... please help! easy ten points

I want to lighten my hair with lemon juice... please help! easy ten points
right, first things first, this DOSENT WORK.

trust me, i went from platnum to dirty blonde in the space of 3 weeks, so i tried everything!

but it DOES make your hair smell nice :L

blonde hair does naturally get lighter in the summer, or in hot spells of weather, so when its getting colder it will get darker.

the best thing to do would be get your hairdresser to put some uplifting hightlights, not stripy ones but ones that will lift the natural lighter blonde tones of your hair up.

or, invite some friends round and die each others hair, loreal do some really amazing colouring kits for cheap (拢10 or under) and unless your hair has gone REALLY dark, they should work. however, the results might not be as effective or last as long as getting your hair done proffesionally.

hope i helped! love, millie.I want to lighten my hair with lemon juice... please help! easy ten points
just colmb it in and sit in the sun or go tanning
it will but when you stop your hair will turn green for like 3-4 days...
Yes, it will work.

Put lemon juice in a spray bottle, you can add some water if it's too acidic. Spray it on your hair where ever you want it to lighten, go out in the sun, and in a couple of days of doing this, your hair will lighten. :)
Unfortunately Im pretty sure that won't work. I have blonde hair too, and I lightened it with Sun-In.

It's very inexpensive and you can buy it at Publix, Wal-Mart, etc.

Put it in your hair and blow-dry it. Use it a couple times, it should lighten your hair.
ive never heard of lighting hair with lemon juice:S try bleaching it
You will just end up with a SOUR BITTER Colour in Your hair and wont taste nice either.
ok make sure that your hair is not washed, it must be a little oily. and then squeeze a lot of lemons in a bowl and apply it all over your hair. stay in the sun for as long as you can, and trust me it'll work. also you can buy sun in.....it also lightens the hair in the sun.
Get a bottle of lemon juice from the store and apply it to your hair. If that doest't work get some fresh lemons and squezze the juice into a cup and apply to your hair and let it sit for about 30 mins.
I found a website that has easy-step of how you can lighten your hair with lemon juice...hope it works out for you:

Good luck!! : ^ )
Ok, you must do this on a day where its warm and the sun is out. No clouds!!

And also make sure you hair is clean!

Things You'll Need:

-Spray Bottle

-Lemon Juice

-Hair XD

-Sun

-Something to read

-Something to lie or sit on (lawn chair, towel, grass..)

-Sunscreen

-Patience

Steps:

1) Take a spray bottle and fill it with lemon juice (bought ready, or fresh squeezed)

2) Go outside or in your bathroom and spray your hair with the lemon juice (not soaking wet) If you would like you could put it in streaks, or just your whole head.

3) Go outside with a book, magazine, whatever you please, and lay down in the sun. Apply Sunscreen to the rest of your body, you will be lying out for quite some time.

4) Stay out in the sun for 1-2 hours, depending on how blonde you want it.

5) Rinse out the lemon juice

You will see something the first time, but you have to keep doing this every day for a couple days to get real results. Don't stay out in the sun for more than 2 hours, the rays from the sun and the acid from the lemon juice will leave consequences.

I hope I helped, and have fun with your new hair =)

yeah i would put it in a spray bottle

i think 1/3

1 cup of water then 3 of lemon juicehttp://www.ehow.com/how_2145909_lighten-鈥?/a>I want to lighten my hair with lemon juice, how much should i use?
I used it last summer and i loved it! I used regular lemon juice and put it in a spray bottle. I them sprayed my hair and combed through it to coat it evenly. I then left it in for about an half an hour at the pool and it lightened my hair and looked really natural. It doesnt create a huge difference which i like, it just brings out a little more color. You have to use it a couple times before you notice any difference. Just a warning you probably dont want to do this on a day you want to look really cute because it makes your hair all crunchy and sticky before you wash it out but it does work. I also wouldnt recommend using it if unless you're blonde because people who arent blonde said it can make your hair look orangey if you use it too much.
very little and make sure you do it evenly. if not, you will have random platinum blonde blotches everywhere!

I just did this last summer! It works miracles! Just bye a little bottle at your grocery store and pore a little at a time on hands and pull through hair.
this probably sounds weird, but Ketchup works also if you sit out in the sun for about a half an hour! but for the lemon you only need enough to get your hair moist.
About 2 cups.
?
very little, use like three drops at a time

First of all, Lemon may not give you Desired Results As it will not bleach them 1 or 2 levels lighter. But yes! it will lighten them with a natural shine. The Only Side Effect is Dryness that can be treated with a good hair oil or Serum. Dont forget to Use a deep Conditioner Right after you use lemon. I Hope My Answer Will help You.

Have a nice day..... Cheers! Is lightening your hair with lemon juice bad for your hair?
Sure, it's great if you want orange/crusty hair because this is what it will look like. Yes, it's not good for your hair.

Lightening hair with lemon juice. How long does it last?

I want to lighten my hair, So i've decided to try lemon juice. But how long will it last until i have to redo it. Im going back to uni in a few weeks and i dont want to have to stink of lemon juice while thereLightening hair with lemon juice. How long does it last?
Lemon Juice is an acid that will strip away natural colour in your hair. This is the melalin. Depending on the colour of your hair, if you are a brunette, careful as you could go slightly orange. As brown hair as loads of red pigment.

Also you need a catalyst, usually the sun works best.

How long this lasts, depends on how quickly your hair grows, ie your roots, but the colour that remains from lightening your hair will be permanant.Lightening hair with lemon juice. How long does it last?
It only lasts as long as you use it. It will actually shampoo out.
Lemon juice as a hair lightener is only effective on hair that is dishwater blonde or lighter in color. Its bleaching quality is only effective when used in the sun and will not lighten brunettes or red heads.

Using lemon juice on chemically treated hair can turn it an orange or brassy color.

It can also dry out the hair with its acidic quality and make the hair extremely brittle

Used sparingly may be fine in healthy, non chemically treated hair. Also think about this, if you use it too often, you will have bleached hair with roots growing in, now what do you do?
I used sun in on my hair. (It's basically the same thing as lemon juice.) I did it about a year and a half ago. My hair's a gold/copper/auburn-ish color now. I really like my hair and so does everyone else. (So it won't look bad) But, my hair was originally dark dark dark brown. So, when my roots start growing back in again I have to use the sun in so that you can't see the roots. It just depends on what color your hair is. If it's real dark you'll either have to dye your hair or just let it grow out to get your natural color back. Make sure you put in the lemon juice or sun in evenly. You can even make it so that you have a multi-tonal look depending on how you put it in your hair.
Hey I didn't know that you can color your hair with lemon juice.
Using Lemon to slightly lighten your hair works best if you do it in summer as the sun will contribute to slightly bleaching ur hair with the lemon juice in it, and getting sea water in your hair will make an even bigger difference!

Once hair is lightened it'll stay that way until it grows out.

I'm not sure you'll get a real result out of just applying lemon to your hair without sun and/or sea though.
Lemon juice is pretty mild and it will probably only highlight your hair... that is, if you're already blonde.

If will not work with dark colored hair and you'll get best results if you're in contact with heat, like a blowdryer, or under the sun.

If you get some results, it won't last long. At best a couple weeks, depending on how often you wash your hair.

It's fruit your putting on your hait, not chemicals.. It won't react that much
forever because you are bleaching your hair. you just have to redo the roots every 3-4 weeks.
it last until you shampoo it- like someone else said before- but i recomend you use peroxide-
Until you color it again!!!
If you have brown hair I STRONGLY suggest not using lemon juice. Lemon juice will turn your hair orange. If you insist on using lemon juice you need to dilute it with a little water first. It's best to put it on your hair if you're going to be outside in the sun all day. If not, you can use a blow dryer on it and that will work just as well. Also, your hair won't smell like lemons after you wash it!
