help!Does lemon juice actually work to lighten hair?
Work the lemon juice into your hair. Make sure that you work the lemon juice evenly across the top of your hair, along your part areas, hair lines and crown areas.

Leave the lemon juice in your hair while you are out in the sun for about an hour. The lemon juice contains lots of acid, so you really don't want to expose your hair to both extreme sun and the acid in the lemon juice for long periods of time. Rinse the lemon juice out of your hair.

Repeat the process of applying the lemon juice in your hair and being in the sun as many times as necessary to notice a difference in the blonde color. The lemon juice should eventually give your hair highlights and streaks of lighter natural looking color. This process may take several weeks to achieve a real difference in coloring.

Keep your hair well conditioned after using the lemon juice on your hair and rinsing out to help with dryness.

Do not use the lemon juice on hair that is chemically colored or hair that has been exposed or over exposed to chlorine as this may result in extreme hair colors and damage to your hair.Does lemon juice actually work to lighten hair?
Yes it does me and my sisters do it all of the time but if you have black hair it will turn more copper than brown but it will lighten it all you do is put the lemon juice in a spray bottle and spray you hair with it and go out in the sun either tanning or just doing stuff you can wash it out at the end of the day or whenever.

Add on: Peroxide does work too but it really stinks its easier just to use lemon juice and go about your normal day...the others are right about sun in to the stuff works great too besides lemon juice and peroxide that was the first thing I used in my hair to change color and it was awesome...oh yeah condition well after you wash it out.
Lemon juice is just an acid that strips the protective cuticle layer off the hair shaft making it a bit lighter if you use it often and go out in the sun. Sun-In is just a chemical version of this. Both make your hair unruly and I wouldn't do it too often.

It might sound harsher, but I would still go with a packet permanent colour coz at least that is made for hair.

You could always try putting in a few extensions. They do no damage to your own hair and you can see the colour before you put it in. I love Magdalena Hair Extensions from http://www.magdalenahairextensions.com.a鈥?/a>
All you have to do is put regular lemon juice in your hair like you would get at the store in a bottle and then stay out in the sun for like 20 minutes and your hair will get lighter. My hair gets lighter if I just go in the sun without lemon juice too. They also sell stuff in a bottle that works great too you can get it at Target. Oh and both things work great.
put it on your wet hair and go lay in the sun (or do something in the sun) , it will lighten your hair, but not very much at all, in fact you may have to do it for a couple of weeks before you even notice. I will also bring out reddish highlights in your hair. So if you want to be blond, don't use lemon juice.
Only use the juice, then go out into the sun and it will help to give you a lighter hair colour, so if you want streaks, apply it that way, if you have any red in you hair at all, sometimes the streaks can come out more reddish or sometimes more like an orange type colour, so just try it on a small part of your hair first just in case, hope this helps, goodluck! :)
you know lemojn juice in a bottle??

(you use it on fish %26amp; stuff..?)

use that, about half a cupful

leave it in 10-20 min

it will probably lighten the brown highlights

not dramatically though.

try sitting in the sun while the lemon juice is in your hair

good luck =)
okay i did this once:)

but if you have black like your avatar it could just make it gray...

anways.

you just pour 100% lemon juice into your hand and apply into damp hair and go sit in the sun for a while, or or or you coul use a blowdrierr.

goodluck.

OR you could use sunin!
i got my hair done and i asked my hair dresser about this and she said that people think it works because of the citric acid in the lemons but with dark hair it will be quicker and MUCH easier just to go by sum hair die or go and get it professionally done :)

good luck

HOLD YOUR HORSES!

That lemon juice thing only works for people with light brown, dirty blonde, or blonde hair!! If you have dark hair, it'll turn ORANGE or red. lol

So umm unless you want that color, don't do it.
Lemon juice or beer can be put directly onto hair and then you sit in direct sunlight. It really dries out your hair though and in my experience, doesn't look all that great!
THERE'S SOME STUFF CALLED SUN IN.

SOLD AT UR LOCAL WALMART AND OTHER PLACES.

NATURALLY LIGHTENS HAIR.

IDK ABOUT LEMON JUICE.
I've got brown hair and I tried it when I was about 8 years old, didn't make a difference.

It only works on natural blondes..
yea its true you can but take a shower after
It works by making you think you have lighter hair. ZOMG lol
i lemon juice my hair but im blonde.... urs may turn an orangey tint bc its so dark
