I want to lighten my hair naturally but....?

i have extremely dark dark dark brown hair, most of the time mistaken for black (but its not) ive also got really curly frizzy hair because im mixed (black and white), and i want to naturally highlight it with lemon juice, or peroxide.... but im not to sure how, i don't want a dramatic effect i just want like golden brown/sandy brown Highlights, and Sense we are in a recession right now, we haven't really got a billion and 2 bucks to go spending. so to all you hair experts, beauticians, and cosmetologists i would appreciate some advice. and maybe a step by step guide how to do it... and also, since its fall, Therese been a delay with sun.... so i was wondering if i did put lemon juice in my hair, and didn't go out in the ';sun'; what would happen? would it still highlight? just not as much as it would in the sun? .... idk im really confused :] p.s. ive got damaged hair from flat ironing it like every 3 weeks for like 7 years and ive got pretty bad split ends, but im planning on getting those cut soon :] (just thought i should thro that in there)I want to lighten my hair naturally but....?
You mentioned your hair is close to black, so the lemon and sun thing won't work ( only on light brown hair exposed to sun). If your hair is healthy enough, you can try to bleach it once, to get to the brownish/dark orange stage, and then you can appy a semi permanent dye. Cut out the dry ends, and deep deep condition, with coconut oil and argan oil. Best of luckI want to lighten my hair naturally but....?
